Onychomycosis

What are the laser effects on onychomycosis?

International dermatology publications have shown the efficacy of pulsed diode lasers in the near IR spectrum at 980 nm and 1064 nm (LASEmaR® 1000 and LASEmaR® 1064) due to the high activity with the water which causes a destructive photothermolytic effect on the nail fungus. The synergy of this effect comes from the reaction of the N.IR. laser light with high temperature progressive heating. The results are better than topical therapy and with shorter improvement times.

How many sessions are needed?

On average 4-5 sessions with a 3 week gap between sessions.
