The therapy of choice for recent red scars with strong vascularization is the
532 nm green fractional laser (see
LASEmaR® 500).
As for the laser treatment of keloids and hypertrophic scars, the inhibitory effect of high-energy near infrared diode laser therapy (see LASEmaR® 800) on vascular and endothelial growth factors of keloid lesions and hypertrophic scars is documented by the Arnld-Schultz law.
The Arnld-Schultz Law or law of stimuli
Hormesis, from the Greek verb ormao, which means to stimulate, is a dose / response relationship characterized by a biphasic effect: many organisms exposed to a wide range of stimuli show opposite responses depending on the dose; hormesis is considered an adaptive function (Amendola, Cerioli, Migliore, 2006, 2008).
The hormetic responses are characterized by a modest stimulation of the affected function at low doses and by its inhibition at high doses.
We can therefore compare and enegetic principle to the phenomenon of water:
- a stimulus of a minimal amount (e.g.: water drops) results in plant growth;
- an elevated stimulus (e.g.: flood) drowns and inhibits plant growth;
- an eradicating or destructive stimulus (e.g.: vigorous jet of water) destroys the plant.
Eufoton®'s experience confirms the expectations of synergistic use of hormetic high power diode laser therapy in the N.IR region even in plastic surgery.
