Laser lipolysis, also known as lipolaser or laser-assisted body contouring, is based on traditional body contouring and combines the use of the LASEmaR® 1500 connected to optical fibers - from 300 or 600 microns - inserted into a dedicated system composed of a surgical handpiece connected to specific microcannulas of varying lengths - 10, 20, 30 cm - available with or without suction - by means of Luer Lock connectors. It's also available the autoclavable system with direct fiber - with cannula - of 1000 microns.

Both the handpieces and the cannulas for lipolysis are available in two differen variants, with or without suction.

The laser lipolysis parameters are automatically managed by the LASEmaR® 1500 software with pulsed or continuous mode, based on the area to be treated. The microcannula containing the laser fiber is introduced after the tumescent anesthesia and the laser is emitted with slow and continuous movements around the different working planes.

At the beginning, during the tunneling of the area, the surgeon feels a slight bit of resistance which decreases as the laser energy is administered until the fat is emulsified and the treated area becomes softer. At this point, the surgeon decides whether or not to aspirate the lysed fat, which is usually liquefied and oily, by combining a good haemostasis with the improvement of some side effects of traditional body contouring, like hematomas.

    Advantages
    • Compared to traditional liposuction, laser lipolysis is a minimally invasive technique - thanks to the small size of the microcannulas - that also emulsifies the most resistant fat. It is particularly effective in patients undergoing severe slimming and already in good shape due to exercise (i.e. hips and love handles).
    • The smaller microcannulas can be used to sculpt even the most superficial subcutaneous details.
    • Thanks to the 1470 nm wavelength photothermal effect, which selectively acts on water and fat tissue, the procedure is very fast. The result is lipolysis associated with a subsequent skin retraction and lifting effect (skin tightening).
    • It is a method that can be used to treat even the most resistant lipodystrophy relatively quickly.
    Post-surgery
A compression bandage and elastic sleeve is applied after treatment.
One day of rest and one massage cycle and lymph drainage twice a week after eight days.
