Genital surface laser surgery
Diode lasers are recommended for use in the ablative surgical treatment of cutaneous genital lesions such as condylomas, papillomas and skin neoplasms which can generally be treated by laser resection. Surgical resection performed with a diode fiber laser is also indicated for the treatment of fimos and circumcisions.
A surgical fume aspirator should always be used during the ablation of viral skin lesions.
Induratio Penis Plastica
In the field of urology, Eufoton has been involved for several years now in laser therapy for the photoinhibition of scar tissue for treating IPP (Induratio Penis Plastica or Peyronie’s Disease) and in cases of penile curvatures resulting from scar tissue repair processes of cavernous tissue.
Laser photoinhibition therapy of the scar tissue growth factors allows the fibrotic plaque to be partially reabsorbed and thus helps improve the disease without surgery.
The treatment is completely painless and does not require any infiltration of local anaesthesia. An initial cycle of 5-6 therapies is required along with an annual maintenance therapy. The main benefit for the patient is the performing of therapies which avoid surgery and ensures the continuity of the patient’s sexual activity.
